Located in the picturesque harbour town of Lymington in the New Forest, The Mayflower has long been a destination for locals and visitors alike.
A key focus of the project was the transformation of the outdoor areas. The previous garden layout presented challenges for both guests and staff, limiting the efficiency and safety of service. By reconfiguring the space and introducing a purpose-built outdoor bar, we have created a more functional and enjoyable environment that supports busy trading while making the most of the pub’s stunning setting. A refreshed children’s play area strengthens the pub’s appeal as a family-friendly destination, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Inside, the venue has been thoughtfully designed to accommodate a variety of occasions, from cosy corners for relaxed drinks to larger seating areas ideal for group gatherings. Together, these spaces provide the perfect setting to enjoy great food, favourite drinks and good company, whatever the weather. Reflecting Butcombe’s approach to creating pubs that successfully cater to multiple occasions, the refurbishment also includes a bookable private dining room, offering flexibility for celebrations, meetings and special events.
Beyond the main pub, all seven en-suite guest bedrooms have been fully refurbished, providing a comfortable and contemporary base for visitors looking to explore the surrounding coastline, the New Forest and everything this beautiful part of the country has to offer.
