This traditional country pub was built centuries ago and has a delightful old-world-style. It’s mostly wooden interior; flooring, panelled walls and beams look beautiful and were intentionally used as a material that’s close to nature. Muted green, blue and crimson red colours seen in fabrics and finishes have been combined with forest-inspired artwork to enhance the walls and bring a natural touch to the pub.
The High Corner Inn has two open fireplaces; one at the bar and one in the dining area; they are skirted by high back, winged armchairs and Chesterfield sofas which bring lots of traditional flair to the rooms. There’s something decadent about a fireplace in a pub: sitting on a comfortable sofa watching the gentle flicker of flames can’t help but create a relaxed room.
Outside, the spacious beer garden is shaded by parasols and dotted with flower beds. It’s an idyllic spot where guests can sip a pint from the new traditional bar with a view of greenery, flowers and trees. Conveying the quality of the brand from the outside is new signage and decorative lighting – both catch your eye as you pass the building and the lighting makes the garden useable day and night.
As stated in its name, this picturesque pub is also an Inn – it has seven en-suite bedrooms which have been renovated using dusky, soft paint colours, wall panelling and have been decorated with ornate heritage artwork and traditional thick fabric curtains.
