This iconic central Manchester pub has long been a popular haunt, it has one of the biggest beer gardens in the city centre.

A perfect place to enjoy a cosy winter pint or a spritzer on a sunny summers day, this site is always an admired choice and is an institutional staple of Manchester pub culture.

Prior to life as an iconic public house, the building housed a canal side umbrella factory, it is now a multi-functional pub, with areas for meetings, private dining, and an events space, it is also a licensed venue for marriages and civil partnerships.

We were appointed by JW Lees to carry out a refurbishment of this site, including reconfiguration of the ground floor, installation a new bar back fitting, new sections of fixed seating, as well as updating the furniture, lighting and styling throughout, it was important that this pub kept its heritage roots but was also brought up to date in line with customer expectations as well as ensuring as much flexibility and usability throughout.
