Richard Wilson Completes Ultimate Challenge for Dallaglio Rugby Works

After a 2 year delay, Dallaglio RugbyWorks Cycle Slam charity event finally took place! The event sees riders peddling gruelling distances with extreme climbs, starting in Almeria Spain and following the beautiful coastline along the Costa Blanca to Malaga, through Seville before crossing into Portugal, with Lisbon as the final destination.

Richard Wilson, Owner of Concorde BGW Group, took part in stage 1 of the cycle slam, completing 565km with a 7,000m climb.

When Richard originally signed up for this charity event with Dallaglio RugbyWorks nearly 3 years ago he was to be cycling in stage one of the event which spanned 520km with a 4000m climb.

Due to the event being delayed, Richard had to commit to cycling in Stage 1 of the event instead of stage 2 which was 40km further than originally planned and nearly 3000m more of uphill pedalling!

We are very happy to announce Richard completed this incredible challenge. By day 3 he had made it to Ronda, Malaga and by day 4 he had just 26km to go!

Although the event incorporated some challenges, there were some absolutely stunning sights along the way and at the end, a well-deserved beer.

Richard has raised an incredible amount, just over £5,000 (inc Giftaid)! He has said "To everyone who has sponsored me for taking on Dallaglio RugbyWorks Cycle Slam event, thank you!"

Your sponsorship and kind words are very much appreciated.
