Nestled in the Peak District’s Hope Valley, The George offers a perfect blend of simple, comfortable charm and the lively character of the beautiful Derbyshire countryside.

This 500-year-old building, once a favoured spot of Charlotte Bronte, has previously been returned to its former glory as a contemporary coaching inn by Concorde BGW, showcasing the beautiful features of original oak beams and exposed stonework with modern styling.

Following an eight-month closure due to flooding from Storm Babet, The George is back open and looking better than ever! It has reopened with a revamped ground floor featuring new quirks, restored heritage, and preserved character in every corner. The venue boasts a contemporary restaurant, a relaxing lounge area, and a lively bar. The hotel’s emphasis on community and the offer of an inviting atmosphere makes the hotel a truly welcoming place to stay.
