This previous Post Office has been transformed into a new high street public house and co-working space in the Oxfordshire town of Witney. Although this site has the usual nods to the Dodo style, with colour blocking, reclaimed furniture, iconic artwork and distressed painted finishes, it also has elements of retro glamour with moulded opal pendants and a new illuminated glass tile bar servery. The back bar features antique brass contrasted against traditional crackle tiles, with pigeonhole shelving to give a nod to the former use of the building.
The new name and logo are also influenced by the buildings history and give a nod to postal heritage.
The two floors above are not only home to a commercial kitchen and of course, the all-important pizza oven, but also open plan, light and airy co working spaces called Dodo works. Think adjustable lighting, quirky signage, black boards, twizzley office chairs and laminated birch play desks. A great space to get ideas flowing and encouraging collaborative working.
