The Ostrich was an exceptional development that has been well received by locals, as well as visitors to Bristol city centre; a two-month project retained the character of the business whilst lightening the appearance and adding an extensive al fresco area. Internally It was important to stay true to the historic nature of the business while making space by adding additional seating and making it more comfortable and welcoming for guests and team.

The Ostrich in Bristol has been shortlisted for Best New Pub/Bar at the 2020 Publican Awards. The winning pub site will have opened during the past 24 months. The site will either be a new-build pub or substantial re-development and entrants must demonstrate evidence of how effectively trade has been built at the site. The ceremony will be taking place on the 4th of March at Battersea Evolution.
