We are actively engaging with schools in our operating areas to inspire the next generation to explore careers in the construction industry.
Our Operations Director, Sophie Oldfield, has recently become a STEM Ambassador as part of a volunteer programme that has been running for over 20 years and includes more than 28,000 committed individuals. These ambassadors visit schools, colleges, universities, and youth groups, linking STEM subjects to real-world careers and helping students see the tangible applications of their studies.
Sophie’s first visit was to Beauchamp College in Leicester, where she shared insights into Concorde BGW’s work and her own journey from education to the workplace, inspiring students to explore opportunities in our field.
We look forward to many more visits like this, providing valuable information to young people who may be interested in joining the industry in the future.
