The annual Northern Design Awards ceremony took place on the 16th November, showcasing the best projects delivered by exceptional design and architectural practices.
Esteemed designers, retailers and property developers filled the Principal Hotel in Manchester for a glittering night celebrating Northern design and style.
Concorde BGW were shortlisted in seven of the 20 award categories making them the most shortlisted design practice of the evening.
Judged by the best in the business, including well known interior designer and entrepreneur Linda Barker, multiple BIID members and other admired interior designers, the winner of each category was placed under much expert scrutiny to truly identify the best in Northern Design.
The Judges voted Concorde BGW and their work on The Lost & Found in Leeds as the winner of the Restaurant and Bar Design Award category for projects with budgets over £750,000. For this award the judges were looking to find the best social space in the North with a design that makes the space a cut above the rest.
Guy Bostock, Owner & Director at Concorde BGW says
“To receive this recognition from the industry is an honour and a testament to all the hard work that has gone into creating this venue. The team that we have, and their dedication makes all this possible. It is great to push our business to new standards of excellence by entering The Northern Design Awards which has been an enlightening and rewarding process. It has made me even more excited about the projects we are working on in 2019 as we hope to continue to build on our previous success with award recognition and helping drive clients forward to ambitious new heights.”
Another Concorde BGW project, Arkell’s Grape & Grain Wine & Brewery Warehouse in Swindon went on to win the Commercial Build Award at The Northern Design Awards. This award is given to state-of-the-art leisure and business facilities with innovative design solutions.
For this project, Concorde BGW turned a disused, 2 storey storage warehouse at the heart of Arkell’s brewery, into a commercial shop with a historical archive and interactive ingredient room. The site was formally opened by HRH The Duchess of Cornwall to commemorate the 175th anniversary of The Arkell’s Brewery.
With one of the most successful and forward-thinking interior and exterior design teams for the leisure, hospitality and commercial industries, it is easy to see why the Northern Design Awards ceremony was so successful for Concorde and our clients!
