Good-Eggs Plan 1000-Mile Month

August will see our teams track their distances through running / walking / swimming or cycling to achieve one common goal of 1000 miles. No distance too far no distance too small – all will count towards our grand total mile count. Our aim is to raise funds towards the Doncaster & Bassetlaw NHS Foundation Trust Chairty whilst also improving our own health too.

In 2021, Post Pandemic, our Concorde team re-emerged from hiding and regrouped to work out a plan of action for our charity activities for the upcoming years. We decided we needed a team of happy campers, enthusiasts, out-the-box thinkers, and all round general good eggs to push through our charity efforts and help come up with ideas to raise money and help our partner charities and in turn give back to the communities local to our offices…. And so, our Good-Eggs team was formed.

So first off, what is a good egg?

A Good egg is a friendly, old-fashioned way to talk about a good or a kind person. The expression originally came from its opposite, bad egg, British public-school slang from the 1800's for someone who was not nice. Fifty years later, good egg emerged as a casual way to talk about a good chap or a decent fellow.

Lucky for us there are lots of good eggs in the Concorde team and it wasn’t hard to pull together a cracking Good-Eggs team. (pun wholeheartedly intended) Also very conveniently to our marketing team, the colour of an Egg yolk matches our Concorde branding perfectly– so that helped too.

This year although Richard has already done his bit for our annual Charity efforts with his remarkable bicycle ride through Spain and Portugal. The Good-Eggs felt we still needed something that would get the whole team involved whilst at the same time encouraging health and well-being through our teams on both site and through the offices. And so, we will begin our Concorde BGW 1000-mile month on the 1st August

Doncaster & Bassetlaw NHS Foundation Trust has a place in many of our team members hearts as the local hospital to our head office and local community and has been chosen as one of our partner charities for this year.

Follow us through August on our social media channels to see how our team get on, who is the hottest stepper and who is our long-distance champ. Any donations greatly received!!
