Last week our team attended the Fit-Out Awards UK, at the ICC in Birmingham, and what a night it turned out to be! We are absolutely over the moon to announce that our Managing Director, Richard Wilson won the award for “Fit-Out Leader of the year” It is a testament to his hard work and dedication within the industry over the years and as a team we couldn’t be prouder of him.
That wasn’t our only win though, Gozney HQ also won the award for Fit Out Project of the year in the small office category, which is a great nod to our growing commercial arm of the business. This fantastic project in the heart of Bournemouth isn’t your average office space, and as a team we worked hard to realise our clients dream, incorporating operational pizza ovens, a TV studio, and a R&D lab into the design alongside the usuals expected of a modern office space, all delivered within the constraints of a trading listed building. We are chuffed that this project has been given the recognition it deserves.
A little more about our MD Richard Wilson, Richard's father worked as a property director at a major brewery, so Richard spent his early years visiting pub sites and properties. He started his career in retail management before joining a small shop-fitting business in Doncaster at age 24. Two years later, at 26, he took over the business through a management buyout, funded by re-mortgaging his house. Concorde was established in September 1990. Over the next 10 years, Richard expanded the business into shop fitting, and design & build projects. The company grew in turnover and headcount, taking on additional shareholders, and began to undertake major refurbishment and fit-out works for clients in the hospitality sector. In the last decade, Richard has expanded the business into facilities management and regeneration works. The company has also acquired M&E businesses, a joinery manufactory business, as well as continuing to develop its furnishing division. Recent expansion includes a commercial arm completing office and retail refurbishments nationwide. As the company's MD, Richard remains actively involved in all areas of the business, leading the board and executive team. Under his leadership, Concorde has developed a strong focus on culture and supporting its workforce to achieve their own goals as well as our clients.
