Driver & Furniture Installer

Doncaster £12 PH

 

A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced Driver & Furniture Installer to join a friendly team in our busy Interiors department.  We are award winning design and build specialists who also offer our clients furniture and upholstery packages. ​This can include chairs, stools, fixed seating, cushions and much more all made to the customers specification and to the highest standard. ​We pride ourselves on the excellent delivery service we provide and are looking for a professional driver to help us maintain our level of service.

 

Duties & responsibilities

 

  • Collect and deliver items of furniture as per job sheet ensuring correct quantities are loaded at all times.
  • Wrapping of furniture to protect against damages and ensuring all furniture and products are loaded safely
  • Picking stock ready for projects and as per job sheets
  • Follow pre-planned route accurately
  • Unpack furniture and check for damages
  • Assemble and install furniture – full training given
  • Set out furniture for customers as per job sheet and plans provided
  • Deliver contract items e.g. bars, screens etc
  • Ensure correct H&S procedures are followed and protective clothing is worn
  • Assist with moving and lifting heavy items
  • Unload materials and deliveries from goods in
  • Ensure vehicle is checked and well maintained, tyres, oil, water etc
  • Other duties as and when required

     

    Required skills and experience

 

 

  • Excellent time keeping
  • Full, clean driving licence – qualification to drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle is desirable but not essential
  • Able to work well alone or as part of a team
  • CSCS card required – training can be provided for the right candidate if needed
  • Good geographical knowledge is useful and you will be travelling all over the UK
  • Experience of working with hand tools
  • Positive approach, can do attitude and willingness to learn

 

This role is based at our Doncaster site with excellent staff facilities, free parking, free tea & coffee, snacks and fruit and other perks such as membership to Westfield Health, great social events and Feast Fridays - we all just love a bit of pizza!  ​This position benefits from a company pension, quality workwear, 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays and also receives paid leave while the business is closed over the festive period because who doesn't love a nice long Christmas break?  

This is a full-time, permanent working of 39 hours per week, Monday – Friday with no weekend or bank holiday working required.  Our core working hours are 8am – 4.30pm, with a 3.30pm finish on Fridays, ​but flexibility is essential as it is often necessary to amend working hours to facilitate deliveries. ​You will need to be able to get to the site without relying on public transport due to some early starts. ​Salary is approx. £12 per hour, negotiable depending on experience, and with opportunities for overtime paid at an enhanced rate.
